Once the sums were collected as a tax title for notarial deeds, he did not pay the amount due to the State. A "proven illegal system to alter tax settlement models" and "partially evade compliance by making undue gains" on the "difference between what was requested and what was paid".

With these reasons, the Regional Court of Auditors chaired by Donata Cabras sentenced the notary Maria Vittorio Loriga to pay 100,169.75 euros as missed payments to the tax authorities between 2012 and 2013, the same amount disputed by the regional Public Prosecutor.

According to the judges, the "conduct" of the notary was "specifically aimed at maliciously concealing the prejudice" caused to the public purse "for the purpose of personal enrichment" with a "manifest fraudulent system that cannot be challenged".

Defense lawyers Giulio Steri, Francesco Cocco Ortu and Marco Giuseppe Maggio will evaluate whether to appeal.
