Girasole, Alone Pensioner Dies at Home: His Dog Watches Over Him for Weeks

They hadn't seen him for a long time. Eventually some neighbor reported the anomalous case to the Social Services of Girasole. Today the sad discovery: the lifeless body of Raimondo Loi was in the courtyard of the house with his dog watching over him.

The drama of loneliness took place in a house on the border between Girasole and Tortolì, the town where the man who died at the age of 71 was originally from.

The hypothesis is that his death occurred between 20 and 40 days ago, perhaps due to cardiac arrest. His dog, a medium-sized mongrel to whom the pensioner was very fond, has been watching over him all this time.

The magistrate on duty, having ascertained that there were no signs of violence on the body, authorised the removal of the body for its return to the family and the body was transported to the chapel of the Girasole cemetery, awaiting the funeral.
