For leading his large dog in places open to the public without a muzzle and leash, a 57-year-old from Gesturi was reported by the carabinieri.

The man used to go around the town taking the rottweiler for a walk and to those who pointed out the behavior that did not comply with the regulations in force, as the animal occasionally strayed from the owner, he replied that the dog was very good and harmless.

The military verified that the animal was microchipped and duly registered with the Ats of Sanluri in the register of dangerous dogs but the owner had not fulfilled the requirements imposed by the municipal ordinance, not having stipulated a policy for damage to third parties on the rottweiler, and had brought in public places and/or places open to the public without the required muzzle and leash. Furthermore, the 57-year-old had never attended a specific training course for the conduct of dangerous dogs.
