«There was always a very warm atmosphere, people supported us», says Ester Lai, of the L' Isola delle Storie association: « Everywhere there was positivity , a beautiful harmony was perceived. The accommodation facilities in the area also worked very well." Like an island that re-emerges from the waves, Gavoi has rediscovered its essence, once again embracing the magic of words and stories. After two years of silence, the literary festival L'Isola delle Storie has reawakened the village, breathing new life into its streets and squares.

Literary awakening

Quality music as an extraordinary seal. In Gavoi at the weekend magic was everywhere. The festival won over everyone. With his meetings, his readings. The debates and current issues, addressed in an evocative setting. Then, the tributes that moved: the memory of the writer Michela Murgia and the war correspondent, Franco Di Mare. The 18th edition, this time dedicated to three unforgettable friends of the Gavoese event (Daniela Zedda, Enrico Lai and Michela Murgia), saw the public, the authors meet in a collective embrace, made up of ideas, stories and books. For three days, the town relived that particular magic that only this event can create, transforming itself into a crossroads of ideas and passions.

The Union

Culture as a glue, an essential detail to liven up the internal areas. The meetings with writers, readings, debates, book presentations and workshops enlivened every corner of the historic centre, giving participants an unforgettable experience. The presence of internationally renowned guests and emerging talents enriched the program, offering a variety of content capable of communicating with every type of reader. Important aspect: without forgetting that each event was characterized by a high level of participation, a tangible sign of the desire for culture and sharing, as well as the affection that people have shown for a project that has been committed to for 18 years now to bring culture to the heart of Barbagia. The literary festival L'Isola delle Storie has once again demonstrated its ability to be a point of reference not only for Gavoi, but for the entire region and beyond. Ester Lai concludes: «We sincerely thank all those who made this edition possible, from the volunteers - almost 200 red t-shirts dedicated to Gigi Riva this year - to the supporters, from the guests to the cultural partners, with a special thanks to the numerous participants, who with their presence gave life and color to these three days. The promise we make is to continue to cultivate and spread the passion for reading and culture, already looking with enthusiasm to the next edition of the festival."
