The Region allocates one million euros to support young Sardinians who want to attend a flight attendant course.

The decision was taken with a resolution proposed by the Councilor for Labor, Desirè Manca, who exulted: "It had never happened before: we are first in Italy."

Since "there are no schools in our region that provide courses for the release of the Cca (Cabin Crew Attestation) certificate, and our kids are forced to move to the Peninsula to attend," explains the councilor, "we decided to accompany them through this training path, covering all the expected costs , including those for food and accommodation."

The aim of the Council "is to offer new employment opportunities to young people between the ages of 18 and 35 and to be able to respond to changes in the job market, which is constantly changing and evolving. Thanks to this experimental project, training vouchers will be provided to be spent in an area that has never been included in the catalogue before, such as aviation, a sector that suffers from a shortage of qualified personnel, such as flight attendants".

In recent years, there has been a constant increase in commercial air traffic passengers , which could lead, according to Iata (International Air Transport Association), to a doubling of the number of passengers by 2030.

“That’s why we thought about helping young people enter this growing sector,” says Manca.
