Fraud on overtime at the Cagliari ASL: a health assistant reported

She allegedly modified attendance sheets for three years, inserting undue overtime hours and thus receiving benefits illegally. This is what the Carabinieri of the Sant'Avendrace station discovered in Cagliari, who reported at liberty a thirty-five-year-old health assistant working in the ASL of the capital for ideological falsehood in a public document and aggravated fraud.
The investigations began in March, following a tip-off. The investigators, as explained by the Carabinieri, thus reconstructed the mechanism devised by the healthcare assistant: between January 2022 and February 2025, in the reports of various shifts, she would have manually entered hours of work never worked, adding “digitalized” signatures of her superior to paper forms or modifying the sheets already registered by adding retroactive dates. In this way, she would have obtained undue allowances and overtime .
Thanks to the cross-analysis of electronic registers, badge stamps and paper documents acquired in original, the Carabinieri have reconstructed the fraud in detail . "For each fictitious shift, the hours unduly paid were counted, which the Prosecutor's Office will now be able to use as the basis for its assessments", the note from the Carabinieri.
