An illegal landfill for hazardous waste in the countryside of Flumini di Quartu . It was discovered by the Carabinieri of the Flumini Temporary Station, who reported four people, all unemployed and already known to the police, aged between 38 and 61 .

It all started with a search carried out on May 13, when the military noticed a suspicious accumulation of materials on a semi-abandoned lot in the countryside of Flumini, in a residential area inland, about 3 kilometers from the coast.

After days of observation, the raid was launched yesterday, revealing a situation of serious degradation. A variety of hazardous waste was found in the area, including refrigerators, car wrecks, tires, scrap electrical and plastic materials, and ferrous metal . A large amount of potentially polluting waste.

The occupants of the building were reported, the area was seized and an order was requested from the mayor for the clearing of the site and the restoration of the premises at the expense of those responsible .

The operation, the Carabinieri emphasize, demonstrates the importance and effectiveness of the temporary Flumini station, which allows for results to be achieved not only in the coastal area but also in inland areas.
