Anti-poaching operation at Gutturu Mannu Park. Two people were reported and the Foresters from the Pula station seized weapons, ammunition, bird nets and a car.

Last night, inside the natural park, at Villa San Pietro, two men were wandering around on board a vehicle, holding a rifle outside the cockpit. After parking, they entered the vegetation, weapons in hand.

The Foresters immediately intercepted them. The first had a 12 gauge shotgun loaded with buckshot ammunition. The other tried to escape but was recognized and stopped later: he had 40 cartridges loaded with buckshot with him.

The weapons were regularly held by one of the two.

During the house searches, 50 bird nets were also recovered. Since the two were hunting in the vehicle, the car was also seized.

Two 31-year-olds living in Sarroch and Villa San Pietro ended up in trouble: one a hunter with a gun license and owner of the seized weapons, the second, blocked after escaping, did not have a gun license.

For both, a complaint for hunting in the Park area, during a period of general prohibition and with unauthorized means, and using rifles modified with the addition of electric torches on the barrel, in order to illuminate and dazzle the game.
