The first real heatwave of the season is about to arrive: the North African anticyclone breaks out in the Mediterranean and, according to the analysis of the most up-to-date weather models, from tomorrow temperatures will begin to rise, reaching 39-40 degrees in Sardinia. weekend shadow.
From tomorrow the first peaks above 30 degrees are expected also in central Italy, while in the south some clouds will prevent the real North African thermal surge. In the north they will begin to taste summer.
But already from Thursday a mostly clear sky and a greater strength of the anticyclone will push the thermometer upwards: 33°C is expected in the north in Emilia, in the center 32°C in Terni and 30°C widespread with a lot of humidity, in the South it will already reach 36°C, obviously in the shade.
According to the forecasts of Lorenzo Tedici, meteorologist of "ILMeteo.it", the real exploit of the heat will arrive over the weekend with the highest peaks in Scipione: up to 39-40°C in the shade between Sicily, Sardinia and Calabria, 35- 36°C also in the internal areas of the Centre, and notable sultriness in the Po Valley with the thermometer well above the real 32-33°C but with much higher perceived values.
The peculiarity of this first heat wave will in fact be the sultriness: conditions will be hot, but also very humid due to the abundant rains that have fallen in recent weeks. The first summer sun will in fact make the water-saturated soil "boil" - and for the island it will be a relative problem - and will create an almost tropical environment.
