The Moby Ale Due has left the moorings of the industrial port of Porto Torres to resume its journey towards Genoa.
Yesterday evening, with the progressive improvement of the sea weather conditions and the wind decreasing, the ferry resumed its journey towards the Ligurian port , after having remained docked for a whole day on the quayside for the necessary checks and technical inspections on the state of safety on board.
A necessary check, following the fire that broke out on Thursday 19 December, during the Porto Torres-Genoa crossing when, just over two hours into the journey, the flames from a refrigerated truck, in the garage compartment, alarmed the 268 passengers on board, the crew and the captain, who was forced to turn back.
The fire was put out but the ship had to return to port, causing inconvenience to passengers, re-protected on Moby Tommy departing from Olbia. Bad weather and strong gusts of mistral also affected connections between Sardinia and the Peninsula.
