«And where would I also get the mussels and clams? It is obvious that I brought everything with me, in the fridge». This is how Daniele Testa defends himself, Neapolitan restaurateur and oyster maker, who ended up at the center of a social storm after posting a video: there he is, sitting on a boat floating in the crystalline waters of the northern Sardinian sea, feasting on sea urchins of sea in the days between August 15th.

The point is: if those delicacies (certainly not in this period, when they are not at their best anyway) had been collected shortly before, there would be a violation of the stringent fishing regulations: it is prohibited.

The story was revived by the managers of the Facebook page "Sardegna rubata e plundered", always very careful to report incorrect behavior towards the beauties of the island. The episode is placed in the archipelago of La Maddalena. It would be an aggravating circumstance: that is a zone of total protection. And the wave of indignation mounted within hours.

Testa, called into question, decided to intervene to defend himself. First he claimed that this was "an old video" . Attacked on several fronts, he who is also president of the Italian oyster farmers' association, relaunched: « If it were like you say I'm pissed… I am too. But I'm a good person." In other videos, which date back to the same period, he appears with mussels and oysters, still in the middle of the sea: «And where did I catch them?», he asks, «it is clear that I brought them with me in the refrigerator. Or do you think we have fished everything?'

Meanwhile, the video that sparked the controversy has been removed from Testa's personal profile.
