Tragedy narrowly avoided in the Brotzu parking lot: part of the wooden shelters of the photovoltaic system fell to the ground, hitting a parked car head-on.
Fortunately, there were no visitors or employees passing by at the time: the wooden structure, approximately 7 metres long and weighing tens of kilograms , however, fell onto the side of a car, causing damage to the bodywork and breaking the rear window.
"As soon as we received the report, we were able to verify from an initial analysis carried out on site that the heavy wooden structural part was held by two screws, one on each side ," says Gianfranco Angioni, USB Sanità. " We wonder whether this structural solution, considering the accident, was adequate. The photovoltaic system was built with public funds as part of the project to build integrated solar systems and photovoltaic shelters, technical rooms and parking lots."
«The entire area under the shelters has been closed to parking for further checks on the integrity and safety of the structures – the conclusion – USB Sanità is very concerned about the safety of employees and visitors and has asked the Management for a report on the facts also to verify the state of maintenance of the structure now deteriorated in many parts ».
