Fatal illness at the bar: the tragedy in the centre of Tortolì

He was everyone's friend. Giorgio Pusceddu had a kind word for everyone he met. He had a good soul and those who passed by via Monsignor Virgilio could not fail to notice that presence, discreet and never intrusive. An illness struck him down on Tuesday evening on the veranda of a bar in the center.

As usual, the man, single, had reached the avenue on board his Ape Piaggio. The rescuers tried to revive him, after he felt ill in front of a drink he was consuming at the table . All in vain: Giorgio ceased to live before the eyes of the 118 personnel and the carabinieri who alerted the magistrate on duty, who immediately granted the go-ahead for the body to be handed over to the family.

With a thick moustache that extended across the entire arch of his upper lip, Giorgio, a regular at the Caritas counter, had emigrated to Germany before returning home. His ironic streak was known to all: Giorgio had become an icon of via Monsignor Virgilio .
