The funeral of Michela Murgia , the writer from Cabras who died yesterday at the age of 51 , will be held tomorrow in Rome . The function - as communicated by the family - will be at the Basilica of Santa Maria in Montesanto , the Church of the Artists , at 3.30pm.
The woman had revealed a few months ago that she had stage four cancer. The signature, protagonist of the national literary universe, leaves a legacy of great successes such as “ Accabadora ”, “The world must know”, “Ave Mary”.
The activist - having admitted her illness and short life expectancy - also attracted media attention following her remarriage "in articulo mortis" to ensure her family the rights that "the law does not guarantee". The marriage, celebrated when time was running out, was a real political act .
