One hundred thousand euros in compensation for damages which, if recognized, will be donated to the national fund of the Ministry of the Interior to support women victims of violence. This is the request presented by Giorgia Meloni in the trial underway at the Court of Sassari in which the Prime Minister is a civil party against two defendants, a father and son from Sassari, accused of defamation after having published counterfeit videos on an American pornographic website by adding the face of the prime minister on the bodies of the protagonists of hardcore scenes.
"The request is intended to be a message aimed at all women victims of this type of abuse not to be afraid to report", explains the plaintiff's lawyer, Maria Giulia Marongiu, who protects Giorgia Meloni. The figure "is symbolic and aims to contribute to the protection of victims, women who, often unknowingly, are the target of this type of crime".
The two defendants from Sassari, aged 73 and 40, called to trial directly by prosecutor Maria Paola Asara on charges of defamation, will be judged with two different rites: their defense lawyer, Maurizio Serra, has asked for the father to be put on trial , and judge Paolo Bulla will decide on the matter on March 25th. The son will instead follow the ordinary rite and the hearing will open on March 19, before judge Monia Adami.
