Everyone in the classroom from September 12th: the Region's approval for the new school calendar

For all Sardinian students the date is already confirmed: after the upcoming summer holidays they will return to school on Thursday 12 September 2024. This is what is foreseen in the new 2024/2025 school calendar approved today by the Regional Council , on the proposal of the councilor for public education , cultural heritage, information, entertainment and sport, Ilaria Portas .

The lessons will instead end on Saturday 7 June 2025 , the date valid for all orders and levels of education. Nursery schools will close their doors two weeks later, on the 28th of the same month. Individual educational institutions, for justified needs and subject to agreement with the local authorities responsible for ensuring services for the right to education, may decide to bring forward the start date of lessons.

These are the national days for which lessons will be suspended : 1st November – All Saints' Day; December 8 - Immaculate Conception; December 25 – Christmas; December 26 - Boxing Day; January 1st – New Year's Eve; January 6 – Epiphany; Monday after Easter (Easter Monday); 25 April - anniversary of the Liberation; May 1st - Labor Day; 2 June - National Republic Day; feast of the Patron Saint (according to current legislation, if it falls on a lesson day). And also: November 2: commemoration of the deceased; Christmas holidays: from 23 to 31 December, from 2 to 4 January; from 3 to 4 March 2025 carnival holidays; from 17 April to 21 April 2025 Easter holidays: the 3 days before Easter Sunday; April 22, 2025 the Tuesday following the Monday after Easter; April 28: Sa Die de sa Sardigna. There are then 2 days available to the Institute Council, which becomes 1 if the Feast of the Patron Saint of the Municipality in question falls during the school period.

The lesson days listed in the regional school calendar are distributed as follows: September 2024: 16 days; October 2024: 27 days; November 2024: 24 days; December 2024: 18 days; January 2025: 22 days; February 2025: days: 24; March 2025: 24 days; April 2025: 19 days; May 2025: 26 days; June 2025: 5 days. A total therefore of 205 days in total.
