The worsening of the epidemiological situation also brings Sardinia, like all the rest of Italy, into the "dark red" area in the updated map of the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (Ecdc).

The Island a week ago was "only" red, now it has passed to the color of the maximum epidemiological risk for Covid-19, although it should be noted that the map takes into account only one indicator, the weekly incidence of infections, leaving out others just as important as the pressure on hospitals and deaths.

For the EU agency, then, all Western and Southern Europe is in dark red, with Scandinavia, the Baltic States and most of Central-Eastern Europe. In red only Romania, part of Hungary and a large part of Poland. There is no country indicated with a lower risk, i.e. in the yellow or green zone.
