Second day of emergency in the municipalities of northwestern Sardinia.
Schools of all levels, parks, and the municipal cemeteries of Nule and Bono will remain closed today, Tuesday, January 20, following further updates from the regional civil protection agency.
Orange weather alert also applies to Benetutti and Ittiri, where the respective mayors, Daniele Arca and Antonio Sau, have signed another ordinance closing public gardens and cemeteries . Residents are urged to limit travel to what is strictly necessary and to exercise caution near waterways, bridges, underpasses, and areas prone to flooding. Extreme caution is urged, avoiding standing under trees, poles, scaffolding, or precarious structures, and to secure goods and objects that could be swept away by wind or water.
The Municipality of Benetutti has also activated the Municipal Operations Center (COC) to coordinate monitoring services during the alert period and to support the mayor in directing and coordinating any assistance and relief services for the population and any emergency response interventions that may be necessary. The COC will be active for the duration of the alert and adverse weather conditions.
