State Road 130, elimination of at-grade intersections. State Road 195, connected work north, from Capoterra to Assemini (and Elmas airport): approved. The Ministry of the Environment and Energy Security has given two green lights to two important works on the Cagliaritano road system: two positive environmental impact assessments that unblock the process for the construction (and safety) of roads that have been awaited for years. Works placed under special administration, taken away from Anas and transferred to the Region, by decision of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. The decrees approving the projects arrived in recent days.
State Road 130, no more at-grade intersections
On State Road 130, between Cagliari and Decimomannu (from kilometer 3 to 15.600), the at-grade intersections will be eliminated. The intervention involves a total of about 10 kilometers of its route in the municipalities of Elmas, Assemini and Decimomannu.
The road is currently classified as a secondary extra-urban road, with two lanes in each direction. "The interventions", reads a note from the Region, "have the objective of improving the conditions of passability and implementing the level of safety, in the section between the Elmas south junction and the Decimomannu junction. The improvement action includes the elimination of the at-grade intersections that involve the construction of junctions at staggered levels (construction of a junction in Elmas, two junctions in Assemini and a junction in Decimomannu), the adaptation of the road surface, always with two lanes in each direction, the construction of coplanar roads to serve local traffic, in addition to hydraulic works and other complementary works".
"The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of Mase," explains the Councilor for Public Works, Antonio Piu, "is the act that allows us to have more certain times and to establish a timetable and procedures for starting the work. Too many crosses on that road."
State Road 195, connection with 130
In the same days, the ministerial offices also issued a favorable environmental compatibility opinion for the new 195, Cagliari-Pula section: connection with the State Road 130 and Cagliari-Elmas Airport». The so-called northern connected work.
In the Anasc'è project documents it is written that «the new stretch of road affects the municipalities of Assemini and Capoterra, has a total development of 5 kilometers and is configured as an intervention to adapt the existing Dorsale Casic to a type B section road. The route begins at kilometer 5.216, immediately downstream from the junction that currently connects the Provincial Road 1 with the Macchiareddu Consortium Road, and ends at kilometer 10.302, where it joins the Opera Connessa Sud (under construction) at the Inceneritore-Dorsale Casic junction.
It will be the road that will allow those arriving from the southwest of the Golfo degli Angeli to reach the hinterland and the capital without travelling along the two-lane stretch of State Road 195 "wedged" between the sea and the Santa Gilla lagoon.
