Dramatic moments at the Bastione: after an hour of negotiation, the carabinieri rescue a man who wanted to jump into the void

He sat on the ledge of the Bastion of Saint Remy in Cagliari and only the work of convincing the carabinieri prevented a tragedy from happening.

For almost an hour, the soldiers of the company's mobile unit spoke with the man, a 40-year-old from a town in southern Sardinia, trying to reassure him and buying time so that he didn't make the dramatic gesture.

A long scene witnessed by many people and also by many tourists present at the Bastione but also in piazza Costituzione, under the monument.

Then, after gaining his trust, they managed to get close and grab his arm amid the sighs of relief of dozens and dozens of people.
