A 46-year-old man was seriously injured while climbing in Cala Fuili, in the Dorgali area.

According to an initial reconstruction of the accident, which occurred in the early afternoon of today, the climber, originally from La Maddalena, was hit on the head by a stone that came loose from the upper part of the wall. The impact was very violent.

The Areus Echo Lima helicopter, 2 based in Alghero, was sent to the scene and transported the injured man to the San Francesco hospital in Nuoro. The man, who suffered a significant head injury, is hospitalized in the intensive care unit and his conditions are described as rather critical.
