The autopsy on the bodies of Stefano Bianchelli and Mario Perniciano , the 56 and 60 year old divers who disappeared off the coast of Villasimius and were later found lifeless at 100 meters deep near the wreck of the San Marco steamship which sank in 1941, lasted over eight hours. .
The investigations carried out by Dr. Roberto Demontis, the medical examiner appointed by the Prosecutor's Office, confirmed that the two died from drowning but did not explain, at least for the moment, whether one of the two had suffered an illness. For this reason we will have to wait for the results of the histological tests which may provide other useful elements to understand what happened during the dive of the two expert divers.
Further elements will come from the analysis of the equipment that the two were wearing and in particular the wrist computer which may have recorded any malfunctions of the cylinder mixer.
