The 65-year-old from Olbia accused of causing the death of a motorcyclist from Ozieri along the Sassari-Olbia road between Oschiri and Berchidda has been indicted.

It was the afternoon of December 15, 2021 when Domenico Maludrottu was driving his car and was heading towards Olbia on the four lanes still under construction. According to the prosecutor, he would have started to overtake the car in front of him without realizing that Adriano Pinna, 28 years old from Ozieri, was overtaking his Ducati at that moment.

The motorbike ended up against the left side of the car, throwing the centaur off and catapulting him onto the guard rail in the opposite lane. Pinna had hit his head violently on one of the uprights of the containment structure, dying instantly.

Maludrottu, according to what is reported in the indictment, would not respect the signs with the prohibition of overtaking and the speed limit of 50 kilometers per hour which indicated the presence of the Anas construction site and the vehicles in maneuver.

This morning the judge for the preliminary hearing of Sassari Sergio De Luca decided to indict the 65-year-old, as requested by the prosecutor. The defendant is defended by the lawyer Marco Salis of the court of Tempio Pausania, the family members of the victim are assisted by the lawyers Sergio Milia and Maria Claudia Pinna of the court of Sassari.
