Then there was the blessing and the laying of the laurel wreath.
For the mayor Antonino Munzittu «This is the third consecutive year that Decimoputzu honors the martyrs of Nassiriya to whom we have dedicated a square, where there is a monument that is the result of work carried out by the middle school students and that a painter from Decimoputzu, Andrea Sabiucciu, then depicted. We want to give the kids the testimony of the evil of wars and how much peace costs». For the Regional Councilor, Mariaelena Motzo (representing the President of the Region): «It is an honor to be able to be present on this day of commemoration for such a dramatic event that occurred in 2003. We must always remember and thank all the forces of law and order and all those who unfortunately lost their lives for peace».
