The Carabinieri of the Decimomannu Station, during an initiative check aimed at combating property crimes, reported a 43-year-old unemployed man, resident in the locality of Senis – in the countryside of Decimoputzu – for the crimes of receiving stolen goods and money laundering.

The military conducted an inspection on a piece of land attributable to him and found a stolen Fiat Panda . To disguise the stolen origin, the chassis number had been scratched off, but technical checks allowed them to trace the real "identity of the vehicle", the object of a theft reported on March 4 at the Carabinieri Station in Sestu.

Not only that: during the inspection, the military also found five cans containing a total of approximately 100 litres of diesel fuel and an electronic control unit for a car, material of dubious origin and without documentation certifying its legitimate possession.

All the material has been subjected to criminal seizure, while investigations continue to establish the exact origin of the fuel and the control unit, as well as any connections with similar episodes of theft or illegal activities in the sector of recycling of vehicles and mechanical components.
