One year and ten months. This is the sentence agreed upon this morning before the preliminary hearing judge of Nuoro Mauro Pusceddu by Bruno Loche (defended by lawyers Paolo Tuffu and Pietro Sanna), a truck driver from Fonni, accused of the road murder of Patrizia Incollu and the assistant chief of the penitentiary police Peppino Fois represented by lawyers Lorenzo and Chiara Soro. A sentence agreed upon during the investigation with the prosecutor Riccardo Belfiori and reiterated today in the hearing by his colleague Ireno Satta.

Incollu and Fois, on the afternoon of October 19, were returning to Nuoro from the Lanusei prison after a day of work. But the trip was interrupted at kilometer 18 of state road 389. Their company car, a Skoda Octavia, collided head-on with the truck of Bruno Loche, a worker from Fonni. The heavy vehicle, on a straight stretch, turned left to enter a gas station, on a stretch of road where the maneuver was not permitted. The car carrying Incollu and Fois was traveling at high speed and the two had no escape.

The agent, 52 years old and originally from Illorai, died on the spot, despite attempts to resuscitate her by 118. Incollu instead (the family members of the former director of Badu and Carros yesterday were civil parties with the lawyer Maria Grazia Monni) was transported in very serious conditions to the San Francesco hospital in Nuoro where she died 12 days later.
