He was stuck between the sheets of the passenger compartment of his Volvo V40 after the terrible impact with the Iveco 35 van in which the young Luca Baraghini, 22 years old from Porto Torres, lost his life. The conditions of Tonio Lino Maiorca, 60 years old from Sassari, commercial agent, hospitalized in the civil hospital of Sassari are still serious. Monitored by doctors, he seems to be responding to therapy for now. He was heading towards Sassari when along the provincial road 57 that leads to Stintino, on the straight line between Fiume Santo and the hamlet of Pozzo San Nicola, he crashed into the refrigerated van driven by Luca Baraghini which, perhaps due to a mechanical failure, lost control of the vehicle invading the opposite lane. A violent clash that left no way out for the 22-year-old, thrown out of the truck window. The boy died instantly. A much loved young man in the city, a community that today will greet him for the last time on the occasion of his funeral at the basilica of San Gavino. The Sassari Public Prosecutor's Office launched an investigation and ordered the seizure of both vehicles involved in the accident.

THE FUNERAL - The flowers on the coffin, the memory with the image of Luke. It is the day of tears and pain. Porto Torres gathered around Luca's family, a moment of emotion shared by an immense crowd of people who filled every corner of the basilica of San Gavino. The parish priest, Monsignor Salvatore Masia, celebrated the funeral, a moving religious function in the presence of the mayor Massimo Mulas and many who loved him. There were his partner Michela, his mother Elisabetta and his father Oreste, his brother Claudio, but also many relatives, friends, young people who had shared evenings, interests and moments of joy with him. They expressed their condolences for Luca who lost his life in the terrible accident on Friday morning on the road to Stintino. "A young man full of life and projects" said the parish priest. A thought goes to little Ludovica and her little brother Edoardo, Luca's children who now know that their father will be able to watch over them from up there. For the managers of the football club Sgs Turritana "his memory will always remain in the hearts of all those who have seen him grow up to become our captain".
