There is no sign of decreasing the pressure of Covid patients on intensive care and on "non-critical" area wards in Sardinia.

On the island, the latest Agenas data (relating to April 3) speak of 12% of beds occupied by patients affected by Covid-19 in emergency departments, the worst figure at national level. The situation of the ordinary departments was also stable but still significant, with employment equal to 20%.

In comparison with last year, the data as of April 3 at the time spoke of an employment of 16% in the intensive and 18% in the departments, with further evidence today, therefore, of the virulence with which the new wave of infections led by Omicron variant hit Sardinia, despite good vaccination coverage.

In Italy in the last 24 hours, employment has remained steady at 15% (national average) of places in hospital wards of "non-critical area" by Covid patients, but is growing in 7 regions, reaching over 20% in Umbria (40%), Calabria (32%), Basilicata (27%), Sicily (26%), Marche (23%), Puglia (23%), Abruzzo (22%). The employment of intensive care, on the other hand, is stable at 5% in Italy (while exactly one year marked 41%), but reaches 10% in Calabria and 12%, in fact, in Sardinia.
