After the fires of Sant'Antonio here is “Carrasegare 'Osincu” . In the city there is already a strong anticipation for what is considered, not surprisingly, one of the most fun events on the entire island.

It starts on February 1st with Giogia Laldagiolu and continues until February 17th with the long and extensive program of initiatives prepared by the Municipality, Pro loco, local operators but in particular by the "Karrasegare Osinku" association chaired by Annamaria Obinu. A group of around 300 members who, in addition to being an active part in the fun, work practically all year round to offer that great and unique carnival atmosphere that animates the city every year. The association is in fact made up of many people who represent the historical memory of the Carnival

President Obinu explains what are the most important elements that characterize the event which, due to its uniqueness, has been included in the list of major events financed by the regional tourism department. «A carnival designed for adults – states President Obinu – but also for the little ones and the new generations.   In fact, we also take care of transmitting traditions to schools to enhance the spirit of Carrasegare Osincu. We explain Giogia Laldagiolu to the children by improvising the trallallera with them, and then S'Attittidu and Giolzi . In fact, children and schools have an important space in carnival events."

Obinu herself then highlights better the spirit that embodies the Bosan carnival. «It is undoubtedly that of bosanity, satire, allegory and theatricality. The Bosa Carnival has always been characterized by the irreverence, spontaneity and improvisation of the Bosa people. It is a popular festival that was born thanks to the participation of the people. Carrasegare 'Osincu stands out from the others because it is always different and not only to be seen, but precisely because you live as protagonists together with the community."

And it's very easy for guests to participate too: just paint your face and turn your jacket and happiness becomes the absolute protagonist. Together with the consolidated and historical events, the "A River of Masks" event scheduled for Sunday 11 February is eagerly awaited, especially by tourists. This is a parade of free masks on any rowing boat . Immediately afterwards the regatta on the tzios, the historic wooden boats, begins. Obviously the key is decidedly ironic and the common thread is always that of open-air theatre.

“Carrasegare 'Osincu” is also an important opportunity to get to know the city: the historic center, the medieval castle, but also the sea and its delicacies.
