Continuity, Ita back on track in Alghero: offers presented for Rome and Milan
Volotea's envelope for connections with Fiumicino has also arrived. From the 27th, flights to Cagliari will be managed by AeroitaliaIn July it lost the tenders to manage territorial continuity in Cagliari and Olbia, but now Ita Airways is back on track at the Alghero airport. The state-owned company is the only one to have submitted offers for the connection with Milan, while on the Alghero-Rome line it will have to deal with Volotea.
Ita Airways has submitted two offers, one for the Alghero-Rome route and another for Alghero-Milan. Volotea only for Alghero-Rome. Now the tender board will have to verify the regularity of the documents filed and evaluate the offers to decide who to assign the routes to (in particular the connection with Rome).
In the morning, Aeroitalia had announced that it did not intend to submit offers and was preparing to abandon the Alghero base, where it will continue to manage connections until October 26.
The new service will start on October 27: Aeroitalia is expected to debut in Cagliari, which will also manage the Olbia routes.
