The Committee for Monitoring Air Transport in Sardinia took place yesterday, Tuesday 5 November , a meeting desired and convened by the Transport Councillor, Barbara Manca, to take stock of the air territorial continuity service with the airlines.
The Committee's primary objective was "to ensure that the service is managed with efficiency and quality, working in synergy to guarantee the best possible satisfaction from users" .
The meeting was attended by the heads of the Department of Transport and the General Management, the Territorial Director of ENAC, Roberto Solinas, the ENAC engineer, Fabrizio Ricci and the representatives of the airlines involved in the territorial continuity service: Aeroitalia, Ita Airways and Volotea.
The technical meeting was an opportunity to reiterate to the carriers the key points of the ministerial decree that governs the public service obligation (Osp) and to evaluate with them the opportunity and possibility of integrating a whole series of services that, although not provided for by the decree, would be of great importance for Sardinian citizens.
"The objective of this committee - declared Councilor Barbara Manca - is to ensure passengers an air service that fully meets mobility needs, avoiding inconvenience and promptly resolving critical issues. We reiterated to the companies the importance of maintaining high operational and quality standards, because - concluded Manca - the right to mobility is fundamental for Sardinian citizens".
The Monitoring Committee, which will meet periodically, was established to ensure constant monitoring of compliance with the agreements and to promptly address any disruptions, proposing concrete and improvement solutions in collaboration with all the actors involved.
Individual meetings will follow with each company to address the issues reported by citizens to the Region's Public Relations Office and the Department's internal monitoring service.
