The construction sites are open, but " many car parks are still closed ".

The opposition in the Cagliari municipal council leaves an appeal and a public meeting also in view of the works in via Roma and viale Trieste which will revolutionize traffic and the road system in the Sardinian capital.

According to the opposition, two actions "cannot be postponed any longer" are the opening of the parking spaces and the protection and control actions for compliance with the rules in the Ztl of the historic districts.

The center-left is also counting the missing parking spaces: 250 parking spaces in via Cesare Battisti and viale Trento-via De Magistris and another 350 in via Sant'Alenixedda in San Benedetto . And «as if that weren't enough – reads the note – for the car park in via Caprera in Stampace the assignment of the works was revoked three years after the assignment, with another 197 parking spaces still remaining unusable . Not to mention the 700 expected in Piazza De Gasperi and Piazza Blood Donors, "already financed and announced by the mayor but still on paper". The opposition is also asking the municipality to reach an agreement with the Region for the use of the departmental car parks in the evening.

It doesn't end here: the minority also underlines " the lack of increase in parking spaces for residents with the establishment of the evening Ztl where there is none and the stalls reserved for them ".

The public meeting was set for Saturday at 10 in the square in front of viale Trento 33, right next to one of the closed car parks: "To urge the mayor and the council to reopen immediately".
