After five rounds of black smoke, the offers have arrived at the offices of the General Directorate of Transport of the Sardinia Region, which, in the public session, opened the administrative envelopes, relating to the tender for the concession of the public maritime transport service for territorial continuity between Sardinia and the smaller islands of La Maddalena, San Pietro and Asinara. The offers were presented by Delcomar Srl for Lot 1 (La Maddalena - San Pietro) and Ensamar Srl for Lot 2 (Asinara).

" After years of failed tenders and services awarded under an extension, we are finally seeing a positive result for mobility on the smaller islands ," announced Transport Councilor Barbara Manca. "This shows that the work done to improve the conditions of the tender and make the call more attractive has borne fruit." The tender was divided into two lots, for a total value of approximately 188.8 million euros, with a contractual duration of six years: lot 1 concerns connections between La Maddalena and San Pietro for a starting bid of approximately 173 million euros; lot 2, connections with the island of Asinara for a starting bid of 15.8 million euros. The tender commission for evaluating the offers submitted will be appointed in the coming days.

"Our goal has always been to guarantee an essential service for the communities of the smaller islands," the councilor emphasized. "With these offers we can look with greater confidence to the future of maritime connections. Now we await the verification of the administrative documentation and the work of the Tender Commission, so that we can have the final award and proceed with the assignment of the services ."
