Concetta Reale, her death a tragic accident: she fell into the canal and was dragged for 16 km

A tragic fall into the canal , no possibility of asking for help amidst the very strong current. This is how Concetta Reale , the elderly woman from Zerfaliu whose traces were lost on Monday 25 March and who was found lifeless a week later near the Zeddiani water pump, would have died. The autopsy revealed no anomalous elements and confirmed the initial hypothesis of the accident.

The 84-year-old apparently left her home in via Mazzini to take a walk (she was last seen on Monday evening near the church). Then, presumably in the late afternoon of Monday 25 March, the fatal accident occurred: the old woman fell into the water, the current dragged her body for about sixteen kilometers to the Zeddiani countryside where a week after the disappearance was reported (by the family friend who took care of her and had not found her at home) was found by some workers from the Reclamation Consortium.
