A serious accident occurred this morning on the 131 highway to Codrongianos. A 47-year-old woman from Oristano veered off the road and crashed into the guardrail. No other vehicles were involved.

When the emergency services arrived she was unconscious and the paramedics tried to intubate her but were unsuccessful.

There were two liquid nitrogen cylinders in the passenger compartment, one of which hit the windshield.

At this time, it is unknown whether the woman had a sudden illness. She was taken to Santissima Annunziata Hospital with critical condition.
