The measures adopted by the Florence police commissioner Maurizio Auriemma against 12 Cagliari fans who were allegedly involved in the clashes against the Fiorentina ultras before the Franchi match on 2 October are very serious: they were issued with Daspo sentences of up to 10 years.

Last week , another 20 supporters of the rossoblù team were banned from watching Italian and European football matches. In case of violation of the provision, they risk imprisonment from six months to three years and a fine of up to 40,000 euros.

That evening, according to what emerged, shortly before 8pm, a group of Cagliari fans improvised a procession in Viale dei Mille towards the stadium, chanting provocative chants towards the Viola supporters. Then the brawl started between the two opposing fans with belt punches. Someone would also have thrown flashlights, stones, road barriers and supermarket display trolleys loaded with goods.

The brawl, we read in the Police Commissioner's provision, exposed the residents of the neighborhood to high risk and only the intervention of the police prevented further clashes .

The twelve recipients of the new Daspo are aged between 25 and 50, are already known to the police force and have already been the recipients of other similar bans in the past, such as a forty-five year old from Cagliari who, from what has been explained, has ringed five Daspo.

The measure, precisely because it affects personal freedom, will have to be validated by the investigating judge of the court. Then in case of validation, the 12 fans will have to "present themselves at their police station - we read in the provision - a quarter of an hour after the kick-off of the matches, a quarter of an hour after the start of the second half and a quarter from now on after the end of the same, on the days in which Cagliari will play at home or in other cities in Sardinia, official matches of the national championship, the Italian Cup, international and European cups".

When the team plays outside the region, fans will have to show up at the police station only once, "half an hour after the start of the first half of the matches". An obligation to which the twelve are also required during the matches that the Italian national football team will play in Cagliari.
