A nightmare that began for the young man when the Carabinieri showed up at his door, confiscated his car and smartphone, and grilled him : "I don't know this girl, and I wasn't with Ragnedda on September 11th," the boy said, incredulous at the accusations.

But how did his involvement arise? It was Ragnedda himself who brought him into the picture, later clearing him when he broke down and confessed to the murder in front of investigators. On Monday, the wine entrepreneur, formally summoned as a person informed of the facts, told investigators: "Cinzia and I were together, I woke up and she was dead." A confusing account, during which he accused the 26-year-old of taking Cinzia's body from the Conca Entosa farmhouse and throwing it into the sea .

The charges were dropped when the entrepreneur confessed and completely exonerated the gardener. But now the young man's lawyers (Antonello Desini, Maurizio, and Nicoletta Mani) expect a defamation case against Emanuele Ragnedda .

All the details on the crime are in Andrea Busia's articles in L'Unione Sarda, available now on newsstands and in the digital edition.
