“The restoration works on the stretch of road of Monte Pino that collapsed during the Cleopatra cyclone (November 18, 2013, ed.) Are now almost completed and the works carried out by Anas will soon be ready for testing. However, the road will remain impassable because the Province, on the other hand, has not yet started the works under its responsibility, which specifically concern ten crossings, the reconstruction of the road surface and the carriageway side barriers ”. This was stated by the M5S group leader in the Regional Council Roberto Li Gioi who presented a question to the President of the region and the councilor for Public Works to find out the reasons why "the Province has not yet started the work within its competence and which actions they intend to put in place so that the road is opened as soon as possible ".
"The Citizens' Committee, which has long been at the forefront of restoring the road network, is very worried - says the M5S exponent - because the completion of the new stretch of carriageway will not allow the road to be opened in any case and a new grueling one is expected stalled . For almost nine years, motorists who traveled the road to Monte Pino every day, and in particular the collapsed section, from km 1.250 to km 4.600, have been forced to take alternative roads, lengthening the route ".
“Citizens have been waiting for years, and today, in light of the conclusion of a tranche of works, they still cannot breathe a sigh of relief because the interventions have continued to travel on two parallel tracks and at two speeds. Today, in fact, there is still no news regarding the tender of the province which would allow the intervention procedures to be started in the still impracticable stretch of road. These intolerable delays jeopardize the completion of the entire road artery, which is essential for guaranteeing the right to mobility of the people of Gallura ”.
