Tragedy averted on the Cagliari-Golfo Aranci railway line, where the presence of several cattle was reported on Saturday, January 10 , on the Macomer-Abbasanta stretch, in the Orovò area.

Forestry Corps personnel responded immediately, despite adverse weather conditions characterized by a violent hailstorm, promptly reaching the railway line and requesting Trenitalia to immediately block all trains traveling on the line.
The intervention made it possible to avoid serious consequences: in that time slot and in the following hours, in fact, several passenger trains were scheduled to run , with a real risk of derailment or collision with the animals on the tracks.
Forestry Corps personnel, with the help of the Barracelli of Macomer, were able to regroup the livestock, take them to a safe area, and then restore safety along the railway line.

The owner of the cattle, who has already been identified, will be charged with violating the provisions of Presidential Decree 753/1980 regarding the safety of railway infrastructure.
