The grandmother of Castiadas turned 104. Severina Utzeri was celebrated today by her family . Originally from San Vito (she moved to Castiadas in 1956, in the hamlet of Masone Pardu with her husband Oreglio Simbola, who died in 2019 at age 98), she worked in the fields for many years and is a living witness to a century of history.
"She is a woman who," wrote the mayor of Castiadas, Eugenio Murgioni, "with the strength of her character and the richness of her experience, embodies the most authentic values of our land: respect, family, dedication, resilience."
"One hundred and four years represent a precious legacy of experiences, memories, and teachings that belong not only to his loved ones, but to the entire community of Castiadas," the mayor continued. "His long life is an authentic testimony of sacrifice, dedication to his family, fortitude, and love for his roots.
On occasions like this, we feel even more strongly the value of memory and the importance of the bond between generations. People like Mrs. Severina hold a significant part of our history and represent an example of which we can be proud.
"I extend to her," Murgioni concluded, "my most sincere best wishes, along with those of the Municipal Administration and the entire community of Castiadas, with the hope that she can continue to live peaceful days, surrounded by the affection of her family and the people who love her."
