Castelsardo, 300 thousand euros to repair the mistral pier
It had been damaged by a storm surge in 2017
The municipal administration of Castelsardo obtained a further 300 thousand euros for the restoration of the breakwater defense pier, damaged in 2017 by a very strong sea storm.
The sum was allocated by the Regional Council , on the proposal of the Department of Public Works, as part of the allocation of one million euros for the "Restoration and safety of the port infrastructures, of regional competence, damaged by weather events adverse marines".
The port structures of the municipalities of Castelsardo, Bosa, Siniscola and Villasimius are affected by the provision. A substantial share will therefore arrive in Castelsardo. To repair what happened in March 2017, when an exceptional storm overturned a block of concrete weighing about 20 tons in the mistral pier.
«Finally it will be possible to remedy a damage that occurred almost six years ago - underlines the mayor of Castelsardo Antonio Capula -. This loan is added to other interventions already financed in recent months, such as the resurfacing of the shore quay and the authorization to start work on the wooden bridge. Financing obtained thanks to a close collaboration between our Administration and the regional bodies».
