Twelve non-EU citizens who had just landed on the Sulcis coast were tracked down during the night by the Carabinieri along the provincial road 103, in the Punta Nera area .

The men of the Arma, from the Carloforte station, arrived on site after a report to the operations center.

The migrants, all adult men and in good health, had no documents. They declared themselves to be Algerians.

After the formal procedures, they were transferred to the reception centre in Monastir with a vehicle from a partner company escorted by the Carabinieri from the Teulada station.

The vessel used to reach the island has not been identified .
