Black smoke and strong and unpleasant smell: piles of tires but also of scrap metal and plastic materials, together with household goods, caught fire during the night, forcing the firefighters of the Carbonia detachment to intervene.

They had to rush to the Sirai locality, between the provincial road and the surroundings of one of the Roma camps, because an expanse of indistinct waste was on fire.

To give the alarm were some residents annoyed by the acrid smell given off by the burnt materials.

The fire itself was not large and was extinguished in a relatively short time. But whoever set it up again created unease and raised even more the issue linked to the conditions of abandonment of the whole vast area of the northern suburbs, characterized by piles of garbage abandoned for many years.

The flames also partly hit the undergrowth of scrub and eucalyptus trees.
