New large seizure of marijuana in Sardinia, where investigators are hitting hard during the harvest period in the numerous illegal plantations scattered across the island.

In the countryside of Barega, in the Carbonia area, the investigators of the Flying Squad of the Cagliari Police Headquarters discovered 1500 plants (600 had already been uprooted and were ready for drying).

Four arrests: four men aged 33, 32, 26 and 24, stopped by officers after an escape attempt, ended up in handcuffs.

The analyzes carried out by the regional scientific police cabinet revealed that cannabis had an active ingredient between 8 and 14%, therefore well above the limit permitted by law, set at 0.6%.

Having been placed on the market, according to estimates carried out in via Amat, the drug could have brought in over 2 million euros.

The four accused faced immediate trial yesterday: the investigating judge validated the arrest but did not order precautionary measures.
