Poggio dei Pini has regained its lake. On Friday, at 10:30 a.m., the lake, returned to the community after complex safety work carried out by the Southern Sardinia Land Reclamation Consortium, will be officially inaugurated.

For residents and citizens, this is a long-awaited moment, one with a strong symbolic value. After the devastating flood of 2008, few would have imagined the lake would be fully accessible and safe again.

"The project required extensive technical and planning work, aimed at combining environmental and landscape protection with the necessary flood prevention measures," explains Franco Magi, President of the City Council and Poggio dei Pini resident. "The restoration of the reservoir today represents a sign of rebirth for the entire area. The lake, always one of Poggio dei Pini's most beloved symbols, is once again a shared community asset, a defining feature and a meeting place surrounded by greenery. The commitment of the president and the technicians of the Land Reclamation Consortium was crucial: thanks to their work, the lake was returned to the citizens."
