Alghero confirms its role as Sardinia's capital of New Year's festivities. Cap d'Any 2025-2026, presented today at the Quarter, marks the 30th edition of an event that continues to grow, becoming increasingly recognizable and recognized beyond the region's borders. "Thanks to the collaboration between the Municipality, the Foundation, associations, and artists, we can offer a rich program designed for everyone," said Mayor Raimondo Cacciotto. "Alghero is a key player, showcasing its unique heritage and confirming its position as a prime destination for New Year's Eve in Sardinia."
Over a month of cultural, musical, and experiential events designed for children, families, young people, and visitors. Santa's Village returns to the Torre di Piazza Sulis, along with the Christmas market in Largo San Francesco and the ice skating rink in the Quarter. There's also great anticipation for the urban installations designed by Antonio Marras and Tonino Serra, with the invaluable collaboration of students from the Art School. "We want to transform the city's spaces into vibrant and welcoming places," explained Tourism Councilor Ornella Piras.
"We've put together a rich program, capable of creating a magical and engaging atmosphere, especially in the historic center," added Raffaella Sanna. For Maria Grazia Salaris, the focus is on families and the most vulnerable: "The calendar includes many moments dedicated to children and solidarity initiatives."
President Porcu announced an intense communications campaign: "Over a month of promotion at the airports connected to Cagliari and Olbia, along with targeted digital campaigns."
Then theater, music, and art. The highlight is three concerts spanning New Year's Eve: Raf on the 29th, Yugi and Low Red on the 30th, and Gabry Ponte on the 31st.
