For the mayor, this is a "non-negotiable decision" that protects cork oaks and granite from energy speculation.Per restare aggiornato entra nel nostro canale Whatsapp
Trynyty srl has formally submitted a PAUR (Regional Single Authorization) application to the Sardinia Region's Environmental Impact Assessment Service for the "Sughere e Granito Wind Farm" project, to be built in the municipalities of Calangianus and Sant'Antonio di Gallura. All interested parties—private citizens, committees, and associations—have the right and duty to review the documentation and submit their comments to the Regional Department for Environmental Protection.
The mayor of Calangianus, Fabio Albieri, immediately took a stand: "We are totally opposed, and it is a non-negotiable position. As far as we are concerned, our position will not change one iota. In fact, I will immediately convene the City Council to put pen to paper and reiterate, as we already firmly did at the Services Conference, our total and absolute NO to this project. We will not allow an area of inestimable value, characterized by our centuries-old cork oaks and granite, to be devastated and sold off on the altar of energy speculation. I want to clarify a fundamental point, to avoid any misunderstanding or exploitation: we are not opposed to the energy transition."
"Our community," Albieri continues, "is a virtuous example of sustainability, and precisely for this reason we have promoted, implemented, and already made fully operational our Renewable Energy Community (CER). We strongly believe in a green future, but above all in energy democracy and respect for the local communities. This specific mega-project, however, is totally incompatible with the environmental, economic, landscape, and cultural vocation of our territory. This is not about ecological transition; it is an industrial assault on a heritage that belongs to the citizens and that we have a duty to protect for future generations. For this reason, we will pursue every institutional initiative, using every legal, political, and administrative tool at our disposal, to defend our land. I invite all citizens to support all our initiatives in defense of our extraordinary territory."
