Two French tourists were surprised by the men of the naval section of the Alghero forestry corps while they were fishing in the protected marine area.

The abusive diver was in Cala Dragunara and had just caught two mullets, while his partner was waiting for him on the shore. At the sight of the agents, coordinated by Commander Bernardo Brau, the two tried to hide the underwater fishing equipment inside a mastic bush, but were discovered.

Reported to the judicial authorities, they now face arrest for up to 6 months and a fine of up to 12 thousand euros.

The equipment was seized, as well as the catch, already "worked" on the spot, that is, bulging and scaled.

The men of the forestry constantly monitor the protected marine area of Capo Caccia-Isola Piana precisely to avoid similar episodes which, fortunately, are less and less frequent thanks also to the daily checks, carried out night and day.
