The District of Cagliari Area Vasta, in anticipation of the retirement of two free-choice pediatricians expected in January 2023, already in November 2022 requested and obtained that a notice be published to replace them, with provisional assignments lasting one year.
« However, the notice did not receive any response, therefore steps were taken to ensure assistance to the children in the care of the two female doctors with the other paediatricians in the territorial area to which they belong. Assistance is absolutely guaranteed for all the children still in the care of the two pediatricians», says the ASL of Cagliari.
The new choice of pediatrician can be made in attendance on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 8.30 to 11 or by e-mail at:
« Currently there are 14, 13 owners and a substitute, the pediatricians who operate in the vast area of Cagliari - explains Gianni Salis, head of the District - have a ceiling of 600 small patients and can reach up to 880 . We held the last meeting with the paediatricians' committee on 27 December and the proposed solutions were agreed with the representatives of the professionals».
The ASL also underlines "that there is constant monitoring of the situation concerning both general practitioners and paediatricians of free choice and that no citizen will remain, in any case, without the possibility of choosing a new doctor in the event of termination from the activity of one's own ".
