Two dangerous Aleppo pines were felled on Via Milano , Cagliari . The severe weather of recent weeks had severely tested the roots of the two trees, making it impossible for the Municipality to guarantee their stability in the ground and, consequently, public safety.
The two large trees will soon be replaced . As the administration explains, the intervention—which took place yesterday—was motivated by "the subsidence of the root ball due to heavy rain and strong winds" and "the technical impossibility of adopting effective support measures to ensure the safety of those who use the road every day."
The Public Green Services has already announced that the removed trees will be replaced with new, mature specimens, thus ensuring the continuity of the street's tree population and preserving the area's green identity.
